Vintage style decorated envelope

This is made out of a large envelope. I used a pretty shop bought floral paper to decorate the envelope and the image on the front is from the Gecko Galz Etsy store

For the front of the envelope I used one sheet of the same design and cut it so when the cover is closed the pattern matches. The frame around the image is from Tim Holtz. I used an image of a frame from My Porch Prints and I added the word 'dream' to that, then I added a small section of cheesecloth and a paper butterfly.

On the inside section on the right hand side I added a fold out flap and then added a pocket onto that and for the middle section I also added a pocket. Then for the middle section at the top I added a flap that flips upwards and I added a pocket to that

On the middle section on the flap I made an oblong embellishment decorated with patterned paper, cheesecloth and a butterfly

On  the flap at the bottom right I used a pretty postcard. To finish off the look I added lace, cheesecloth and small paper butterfly

All of the tags are cut out of kraft card for the base. I decorated all of the tags with collage of different scraps of patterned paper. On some of the tags I added small images, lace, cheesecloth and small paper butterflies, I also added a word to each tag. To finish I added a crochet trim for the top of each tag and tied them with string

On the back of the envelope I added a large pocket that it can be used for extra storage

  1. This is simply wonderful, Janet. So many pockets and flaps and all so beautifully decorated. How was this ever an envelope to start out with? It baffles me how you make something so creative from an envelope! However you do it, you do it very well. It would make an amazing gift! xx
